PHASE 1: Large Gender-blended Presentation

1 hour, unlimited attendance (Optional)

This introductory large group presentation is a powerful heart-and-eye-opening experience. Participants will learn about gender conditioning, gender stereotypes and how they impact our ability to make safe and wise choices in our everyday lives. Participants will be invited to attend the female identified and male identified Phase 2 workshops.

PHASE 2: Gender-specific Workshops

2 hours each, up to 30 students per workshop

In these dynamic workshops for female-identified students and male-identified students, participants will learn concrete skills to use in their daily lives which offer them powerful alternatives to violence; a way of standing up for themselves, those they care about and what they believe in without resorting to violence and without leaving their dignity behind.

Phase 2 - Program Outlines

Female-Identified – Phase 2

The Power of Wisdom

In these workshops, participants will be introduced to the concept of CHILD (fear), BITCH (anger), and WISE WOMAN (assertiveness) and will offer them the POWER OF WISDOM: the power that every female-identified person has to listen to their intuition and stand up and speak up when faced with intimidation or violation including sexual harassment and sexual assault. Participants will learn to identify the voice of wisdom, assert boundaries, body language/verbal skills to effectively de-escalate potentially violent situations, and a practice to clarify sexual consent. Participants will also be offered hands-on self-defense skills.

Male-Identified – Phase 2

The Power of Choice

In these workshops, participants will be introduced to “The Male Code of Conduct”. The expectations and limitations of this male code, how to navigate it and how to find freedom through the concept of THE POWER OF CHOICE: the power that each individual has to choose what kind of human being they wish to be. They will learn the realities and legalities of sexual assault, sexual harassment with a strong focus on what constitutes consent.

Our Mission

In response to the recent and ongoing incidents of sexual harassment and sexual assault on campuses in Canada, we have made an intention to:

  • Engage all students in the concept of a SAFE CAMPUS R/EVOLUTION.
  • Encourage open communication on gender violence on campus.
  • Inspire male identified students to make the urgent evolutionary leap toward understanding the truth about violence against women and choosing every single day to be men that women can feel safe with. As well as taking responsibility for engaging other men to be people who actively care about the dignity and safety of all girls and women.
  • Empower women to be able to move through their daily lives with skills to keep themselves safe from inner and outer harm.

Objectives and outcomes for the SAFE CAMPUS R/EVOLUTION

Objective: Increase the awareness of gender violence on campus through creating an open dialogue with participants to encourage peaceful and compassionate communications between genders.

Outcome: End the silence on rape culture on campus.

Objective: Enhance female-identified students’ ability to stand up for themselves and what they believe in; and have the skills to protect themselves from gender violence.

Outcome:

  • Female-identified students will use the assertiveness and empowerment skills to navigate their everyday lives from a place of inner wisdom.
  • Female-identified students will be able to recognize potentially dangerous situations and take assertive action.
  • Female-identified students will understand regardless of what they do or don’t do, sexual assault is never their fault.

Objective: Enhance male-identified students’ understanding of the role men play within the gender violence dynamic.

Outcome:

  • Male-identified students on campus will choose to be men that women can feel safe with.
  • Male-identified students will be people who actively care about the dignity and safely of all girls and women.
